Sam

Sam, Sammy, Sammy James, Smush, Smushy, Schmooly, Stinkbo, Little Brother...

I think I can officially say that Sam is fixed. Prior to his second surgery, all we thought about is having to give him his "tubes". We went through countless syringes & catheters. He is tube free since October 4th (the night before his surgery, which included many horrible irrigations). Sam poops, sometimes not every day, sometimes more than we like, but he does poop. I don't think a day has passed since his surgery that we haven't counted how many times he has gone to the bathroom. But he is healthy, finally growing (although he is still a small fry) and getting some hair. He is learning faster now. Every day brings a new word or new "tricks". Yes, our sweet boy is FINALLY on the path to wellness. We love him tremendously and thank all of the doctors & nurses in Cincinnati who assured us that we had done the right thing (even when his Vegas doctor told us it was "a waste of time to go to Cincinnati"). Love you buddy. You are one tough kid.
